DLP resin printers, like the Photon Ultra, are still new to the consumer market - most DLP machines are industrial printers. The DLP printers can still use any MSLA resin, but that doesn't stop the companies like Anycubic from optimizing some of their popular resin to DLP printers.

If you are shopping on a more restricted budget for a resin printer that can create highly-detailed models on a smaller scale, then the Anycubic Mono is a solid option.

If you use the resin provided by Anycubic, the exposure time is generally set at 2-3 seconds. For variations in light transmission caused by different coloured resins, Anycubic has adjusted the formula ratio of the resin, so that the exposure time of different colors of the same type of resin is close to the same.

Always work in a well-ventilated area to prevent resin fumes from getting into your lungs and causing irritation there, too. It's harmful when exposed to eyes or ingested: Never let resin near or into your eyes or mouth.

Unfortunately, the short answer is: no, you shouldn't leave your printer unattended in the middle of a project because of safety issues. That may sound unreasonable, but the printer can be a fire hazard and you don't want to risk returning to a burnt down home or office.

Can UV light cure resin faster? ›

Curing time varies depending on the resin and the lamp used. But generally, it is about a few minutes, even ten minutes for UV resin. Important clarification: The UV lamp or UV LED lamp will not make your two-component epoxy resin cure faster. On the contrary, you risk yellowing it, as it does not like UV light.

You can start to work with poured 2-part resin components after about 24 hours, but you should allow 3 days to allow it to really cure. For UV resin, it takes about 15-20 minutes to cure each layer under a UV lamp, and a few hours to cure in direct sunlight. Cured resin can be sanded, filed, and drilled.
