Box 94. Bowman. My Answer Billy Graham Dear Dr. Graham: I never watch religious programs on television. but the other night I caught your television special and I admit I found it fascinating.

But I didn't understand why you invite people to come forward in your crusades. I don't know much about religion, but I can't quite see myself doing something like that. K.S Dear K.S.: The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is God Himself, who came down from heaven so we could be forgiven of our sins and be restored to a personal relationship with God. When you become a Christian, therefore. you make a a decision to believe and trust in Christ, and to become his follower.

Although people come to Christ in many different ways. for each person there comes a moment when he or she must decide whether or not they will give themselves to Christ. It may surprise you to realize that you cannot really be neutral about Christ. Jesus declared. "He who is not with me is against me" (Matthew Becoming a Christian is somewhat like taking sides in a battle: if you are not on Christ's side.

then you are automatically on the opposing side. Every person Jesus called to become his disciple was called to take a public stand for him. Why? One reason is undoubtedly because there's something clear and definite about making a public commitment to Christ- something which makes a person less likely to make a decision casually or insincerely. Jesus promised. "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven" (Matthew I invite you to come to Christ today.

Why delay? No, you may not understand everything. But God loves you. and Christ died on the cross to take away your sins. Right now he is ready to receive you and welcome you into his kingdom. By faith take your stand for Christ.

DUBLIN, Ireland (AP) A former IRA activist who allegedly masterminded the kidnapping of a wealthy Dublin dentist was shot and wounded Friday as he crashed through a roadblock, police said. Dessie O'Hare, nicknamed the "Border Fox," was shot in the arms, legs and chest near Urlingford.

80 miles from Dublin, said a police spokesman, Larry Coady. A traveling companion, Martin Brien, was killed, and a soldier was shot in the leg, Coady said. The two fugitives had burst through a previous police checkpoint seconds earlier. Police said O'Hare, 29, was seriously wounded but was not in critical condition. The British Broadcasting Corp.

reported he had undergone surgery. He was transferred under heavy security from a hospital in Kilkenny to one in Dublin, according to Press Association, the British news agency. The incident climaxed a lengthy drama that began with the kidnapping of 38-year-old John 0'Grady in Dublin. O'Grady, whose kidnappers chopped off the tips of two fingers during his 22 days of captivity, was freed by police after detectives discovered the gang in a house Nov. 5.

No ransom was paid. Police have charged four people in connection with the abduction and they have been scouring the island for O'Hare, who got his nickname from his frequent crossing of the border between Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic. said they were convinced O'Hare masterminded the abduction. O'Hare is a former member of the Irish Republican Army and its extreme offshoot, the Irish National Liberation Army. Both organizations have disowned him as a liability in their fight to rid Northern Ireland of British rule.

O'Hare had last been sighted near the border with Northern Ireland two weeks ago when he fired seven shotgun blasts at his wife in a crowded pub, grazing her. He fled in a car. Brien, 28, was a wanted Irish National Liberation Army member from Derry who had been on the run for several years. Hunters kill tame deer; neighborhood mourns OMAHA, Neb. (AP) The wild deer didn't have a name, but he appeared this week and wanted to play and be petted.

Two men, who apparently took advantage of the animal's trusting nature, shot and killed him Thanksgiving "It was like killing Bambi," Karen Bergman said Friday. "The deer was like a pet." Ms. Bergman, 18, was eating Thanksgiving dinner with her family when they heard the shot. She and other family members ran outside and saw two men trying to put the deer into a car. Police Officer Mark Thibault said he had no doubt the deer killed was the one that had approached people in the Ponca Hills-Fort Calhoun area this week.

The area is heavily wooded and sparsely populated. The young buck entered the yard of a small farm near Fort Calhoun on Tuesday, staying long enough to have his picture taken. Betty Bergman, Karen's mother, said her family was about to have dessert when she noticed that someone had turned around in their driveway. "We wanted to see if we had company," she Moments later, a shot was fired. The Bergman family got the vehicle's license number and the car was registered in Blair, about 20 miles north of Omaha, Thibault said.

They said all five victims were shot Thursday night at a residence in Kuchchuveli, 22 miles north of Trincomalee. The officers spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, largest of the rebel groups, have put up posters in the Tamildominated northern and eastern regions warning residents against cooperating with Indian peacekeeping forces. India has about 20.000 soldiers in Sri Lanka to enforce a peace agreement it signed with the government in July. The accord's purpose was to end a 4-year-old ethnic war between Tamil militants and the majority Sinhalese that has taken more than 6.000 lives. Tamil guerrillas were supposed to turn in their arms to the Indian troops, but the Tigers refused and the Indians began an offensive Oct. Thursday night's attack was on the home of the deputy chief administrative officer of Kuchchuveli, a Sinhalese identified only as Sinnthaduri.
